Neuroscience PhD Candidate

Hi!
Currently: completing my doctoral thesis + currently looking for a position where I can combine my scientific and leadership skills together to help the scientific community grow

Interests: monoaminergic systems, olfaction, gut bacteria/gut-brain-axis, diversity & inclusion in science/academia
I am a 5th year Ph.D Candidate at the City University of New York (CUNY) in the Biology program and Neuroscience subprogram with nearly a decade of lab-based neuroscience experience.
My doctoral research focuses on under-covering a lesser known mechanism of monoamine neurotransmission. Specifically, we study the release of serotonin via the serotonin transporter evoked by the GPCR subunits, beta and gamma.

Outside of lab work, I am passionate about advocacy and equal opportunity in STEM, communicating science, and dismantling scientific misinformation. I believe that science is for everyone, and it is our job to ensure everyone can safely explore their interests.
